Distinctone Sdn Bhd, operating under the brand Music Hive, has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Music Dream Beijing Technology Co Ltd — a leading provider of AI‑driven learning solutions holding 8 registered intellectual property patents in AI education, 39 software copyrights, and the recipient of China’s National Innovative Award for seven consecutive years.
The agreement establishes the first AI Music Education Research Centre in ASEAN, to be based in Sabah, Malaysia. This facility will serve as a regional hub for research, development, and adaptation of smart learning technology — designed to drastically reduce the cost of music education while maintaining world‑class quality.
Through this Research Centre, both parties will also jointly develop and operate the Global AI Examination Board — an international accreditation body that uses advanced AI systems to standardize learning outcomes, assessments, and certifications worldwide. The Board will ensure consistent, objective evaluation aligned with global standards, including pathways to UK‑accredited international qualifications.
The Centre will also support the rollout of our AI Music Tutor subscription model, provide access to over 3,000 music libraries, and sponsor examination fees for students pursuing official certification.
It will expand to cover specialized fields including Islamic devotional music and the cultural legacy of Tan Sri P. Ramlee, preserving heritage while making learning accessible.
Beyond education, the initiative creates sustainable income streams for content creators, educators, and under‑served communities — including OKU individuals, retirees, teachers, and students — across Malaysia and the region.
Led by Dr. Janet Lee (30+ years of expertise in music education) and Dr. Peter Chua (35+ years in corporate strategy and development), this partnership positions Sabah as a pioneer in merging education, technology, cultural preservation, and inclusive economic growth.
